The NATIONAL CIRCUS PROJECT provides spectacular circus performances, exciting circus skills workshops and amazing student and camper circus shows. Our incredible programs are designed to generate enthusiasm, encourage motivation and self-discipline, and to foster creativity and confidence in “children of all ages”! We are a non-profit organization that exists to preserve and promote traditional circus arts through education and entertainment. For the past 25 years NCP has provided circus arts performances, residencies, workshop programs, teacher training seminars and more to schools, recreational centers, libraries and camps throughout the Eastern US. NCP's circus education programs are presented at every grade level - from elementary through university. Since its inception, our education specialists have presented over 5,000 circus performances and conducted more than 50,000 hands-on workshops, involving almost 6,000,000 students. Our international artist exchange program brings cultural dimension to the arts experience and has included acclaimed circus artists from England, Australia, Puerto Rico, Russia, Latvia and the People's Republic of China. The National Circus Project has been recognized with a US Congressional Commendation for "helping to further the cause of international understanding" through its artistic exchange programs.

'Sing, Say, and Play!' in this participatory Christmas music and pageant performance that toasts the old year and welcomes in the new. Set in the Magical Days of Yore, it is fanciful weaving of historic music, traditions, and surprises. 'Wassail' comes from the Old English greeting Wes hael, meaning 'Be thou hail!' and wassailers even today go about England carolling friends & neighbors in this traditional musical well-wishing. To highlight the event, the audience takes on roles in a traditional mummers’ play - a lighthearted spectacle of singing, costumes and laughter. Mummers' plays are still performed in rural England as improvisatory theater in streets, homes, and community gatherings, and feature a host of characters who symbolically assist the sun in its turning through the shortest days of the year. The culminating event of the play is the grand Wassail Bowl, around which all gather to wish a fine Yuletide Season! Come One and All, Young and Old, Shy and Bold, and let thy fancies run free (and be sure to bring your cameras!)

In this show, professional Dancers and Models assist Illusionist Phillip Jennings in Fire Eating, Appearances and Disappearances, Sawing a Woman in Half.......from the audience, Transformations and many more special effects. Requires professional stage/performance area with ample wing and backstage space.

What makes this program different from other magic programs is that many of the effects that appear to be be magic are really scientific fact. This is real Magic, The Magic of Science. Covered in this program are the principals of: * Optical illusions. * Audio Illusions. * Electrical conductivity. * Static Electricity. * The accomplishments of such men as : Franklin, Marconi, Bell and Edison. The program is presented in an entertaining fashion and in terms that will be understood by the youngest students in your audience. Bob Conrad is assisted by his playful robot Benjamin. With the help of a 200,000 volt Van de Graff generator Bob Conrad will perform some hair raising magic. Every student in the audience will leave the auditorium totally fascinated, with a new-found knowledge of the Magic of science. Bob Conrad is the author/illustrator of Bob Conrad's Great Americans.

Live performance of covers that span the decades and resonate with a wide range of audiences and Folk-Rock driven original songs. Artists covered will include James Taylor, The Beatles, Bob Dylan, Indigo Girls, Sting, Neil Young, Wille Nelson, Gregg Allman, Simon and Garfunkel, and others. All songs will be performed solo acoustic, and brief discussion of relevant historical information can also be included in this program if necessary.

PUSS IN BOOTS This classic fairy tale features beautifully crafted hand puppets, a life-sized Ogre and clever scenic design. In an original adaptation, Puss (in boots) rushes headlong into a series of misadventures, only to discover he is happiest being himself! The Spring Valley Puppet Theater production of “Puss in Boots” mixes merriment and message in a new approach to this feline favorite. This show if followed by a demonstration of some of the puppets, both in schools and public performances.

An introduction to the history of the Native American flute, a hands-on lesson that incorporates how to hold the flute, breath control, one breath soloing, jamming with others, a basic scale for flute, jamming with other instruments, and a handout of resources for further learning. With the minimum of 10 participants, an add-on to the workshop may be an option to build your own flute at an additional program cost of $50 per participant for the flute. This may develop into an ongoing flute learning & jam program if participants are interested.

Discover the Magic of Reading! can fill your library with thrilled children happily participating in the most amazing program they’ve ever seen! Children LOVE the magic, parents LOVE the positive messages, and Library directors LOVE the resulting increased book circulation!... The show combines amazing magic, lots of audience participation, age appropriate humor, storytelling with reading promotion, a magical game and typically a breathtaking musical routine with mesmerizing special effects! For slightly larger budgets, we can add spectacular illusion(s), such as, floating a child in the air, sawing somebody in half or making them magically appear to introduce the show. Children also go crazy for an incredible animated talking picture! This is an incredibly easy, fun way to hook kids into reading, and get them excited about your Summer Reading Club for example! Not just reading, but checking out & reading both fiction and non-fiction books. At the end of this exciting adventure I typically give the children a list of topics discussed and popular with youngsters, with their associated Dewey Decimal System Numbers! How many programs get kids to actively learn and use the Dewey Decimal System? Make your library glad!

Singer-Songwriter Chip Richter’s Family Concert at The Library has become a favorite among librarians and families because it's “more fun than a Kid (or Parent) should be allowed to have!” It’s the kind of high-energy fun and audience participation naturally found in a live performance all in the wonderful learning environment of the public library. This is live music, no accompaniment tracks, so anything can happen! With his guitar, banjo, harmonica, stories and original tunes Chip connects with the kids and adults, creating moments to remember. Miracles of The Mind! is a wonderful mind reading type show which specifically appeals to topics of great interest to teens and tweens. Along with the mentalism effects, it combines visual demonstrations of mesmerizing magic/illusions, audience participation including an hypnotic group induction, clean comedy, an incredible memory feat and a spellbinding story! Practical advice and techniques are shared with the audience on improving memory, reading speed, visualizing positive test results, intuition and even how to do a mind reading effect themselves! Based on my former career as a Professional Engineer, your fun program can include educational and inspirational themes. Young adults (and their parents) love this, and you'll get all the credit… I offer different versions of this program to accommodate most budgets. The longer version includes a breathtaking musical routine finale, including amazing special effects and optional, safe fire eating! We can also add spectacular illusion(s), such as sawing somebody in half with a power buzz saw or floating them in the air! You really need to see the looks of joy and wonder on the faces of your audience to fully realize the positive impact this show has on your program!
