Many nocturnal critters have highly developed senses of hearing and smell, and specially adapted eyesight to help them navigate with the light of the moon and the stars . . . We will explore the night-time activities and adaptations with live Animal Ambassadors such as a Red-eyed tree frog, a Hedgehog, a Sugar glider, Ball pythons, a Rabbit or a Ferret, a Spotted salamander, a Tokay or Crested gecko, and more!

Folk-noir musical duo Charming Disaster presents a cycle of original songs inspired by the life of the scientist Marie Curie, her research and discoveries, and their repercussions – from the struggles she faced as a female scientist, to the relationship of equals she shared with her fellow-scientist husband Pierre, to her discovery of radium and the principles of radiation, to the “radium girls” who were poisoned by their work painting watch dials with luminous paint. These songs touch on themes from Curie’s biography, the physics of radiation, and the consequences of nuclear physics in the world. Charming Disaster frames each song with contextual information in a storytelling format, with room for audience interaction and questions. Instrumentation is guitar and ukulele with male/female duet vocals.

Based on two songs by award-winning songwriter Christine Lavin, AMOEBA HOP and HOLE IN THE BOTTOM OF THE SEA . They tell of the tiny ecosystems in a drop of clean water and the gulf of Mexico, a large ecosystem that was polluted in the Oil Spill of 2010. Binary vision (of a paramecium), wildlife rehabilitation, and clean energy are all part of this slide and video presentation. She also offers teen programs on sports and dance game controllers and has led the popular Makey Makey workshops at the Games in Education symposium for education professionals.
