From the banks of the Amazon River to the heart of the West African jungle, Rainforest Legends brings to life favorite folktales and songs about the animals and plants of these lands. Legends tell how the Amazon Birds grew feathers as brilliant as the colors of the rainbow, why three Invisible Hunters came to haunt the Nicaraguan rainforest, and how Jabuti the tortoise tricked the Amazon monster Kibungo into sparing the lives of three-toed frog, jaguar and monkey. For schools different Rainforest Legends performances are available for K-2 and 3-6th grade. Each performancevcomes with an extensive curriculum package, which includes both science-based and language-based activities. A Celebration of Nature and all the simple things we can do to help. Tales for the Earth is a beloved performance that is both educational and entertaining. It explores topics such as Water Conservation, Recycling and Wildlife Protection. Like all of Diane's programs, the performance is tailored to suit each specific audience. Depending on the age range stories may include: What Now, Cloacina?, Diane's hilarious water conservation story about a water sprite who travels through the sewage system in search of her pond or Boy Who Loved the Swamp, based on the true story of a 5th Grade student who saves his favorite nature spot from development. In addition contemporary tales explore ways to foster a whole Earth ethic. What shines through the entire presentation is a love and respect for our place in nature; with many ideas communicated about how we can create a difference. Wondergy programs typically run between 60 and 90 minutes, and are great for special occasions, pre-school & school programs, summer camps, collegiate events, corporate functions, meetings and keynotes, and more! An introduction to the art and science of aromatherapy, the history, and appropriate methods of use and safety precautions. An explanation of what are carrier oils,essential oils, flower essences, single notes and blends, where do they come from, and how are they made. There will be a display of types of actual diffusers and information about nebulizers and techniques of use. Recipes for diffusing for special purposes will be shared on handouts and participants may have the option of making a blend combining essential oils and an organic lotion or cream to use as a body or hand lotion. For seniors, an aromatherapy trip down memory lane may be especially fun. A comparison of scents will invoke different scent associations. Participants will record their memory associations and their preferences and be encouraged to share their comments.

Students will increase confidence levels and self-esteem by performing on stage and stimulate imaginative play using costumes, props and puppets. We also discuss the conservation issues that impact them and how to make a difference. Several different Bird of Prey programs are available with discussion on the different species behaviors and habitats along with hands-on learning with real feathers, talons and bones, as well as information on local wildlife, wildlife rehabilitation and what to do if you find injured or orphaned wildlife.
