This workshop is formulated for parents
and individuals working with youth
and families. We will explore the dangers
of the Internet for families, address pitfalls
for youth and adults alike, and
explore ways to keep yourself and children
safe on the Internet. Topics will include
identity theft, filters, safety contracts,
pornography, online predation, phishing,
proxy avoidance, key-loggers, and more.
We will also briefly address protection on
devices like cell phones, blackberries, Wii,
and Nintendo DS. Participants will
receive an Internet Safety Contract,
statistical information and free filtering
software information.
