FREEDOM'S CRY-(A House Divided) National Tour History,

Once again briz takes us on a historical, musical journey with the second part of his Freedom saga.The first Freedom Stairway, speaks of the attrocities of slavery and the attempts to seek emancipation via the underground railroad. Now, Freedom's Cry deals with the horrors of the Civil War. Songs like, Dear Mr. Lincoln and The Ghosts of Gettysburg, movingly tell the stories of the soldiers who fought the most bloody war in our nation's history, and just like Stairway,Freedom's Cry will move you visually with the addition of the beautiful power point black and white slides from the Library of Congress. The Freedom shows are age appropriate for the entire family with plenty of audience participation. The third and final part of the Freedom saga titled Freedom's Glory which deals with the Civil Rights Movement is also now complete and available as well .

FREEDOM STAIRWAY (Travels on the Human Highway) National Tour History,

The Freedom Stairway saga is based on the Slave Narratives conducted by our government in the 1930's. I have already performed Freedom at a number of schools and libraries. My Freedom songs portray the sacrifices and hardships that slaves endured to reach freedom via the Underground Railroad. The Freedom songs are sung to a multi-media backdrop, including beautiful black and white period photos provided by the Library of Congress to enhance the experience. In addition, I also include short narratives between songs and display African instruments from that troubled time in our nation's history. Plans are currently underway to bring this entertaining and informative program to the new National Underground Railroad Freedom Center in Cincinnati, Ohio. Don't miss out on the chance to include this wonderful program in your schedule this year.

New Jersey Songwriter Briz has created another touching and informative multimedia show based on actual historical events culled from our American landscape. This time the topic is the migration of The Great Plains Farmers to California, the hardships they endured en route and the life that awaited them once they arrived. Briz uses songs of the times like, I Ain't Got No Home in This World Anymore, Do Re Mi, and current works like Springsteen's Ghost of Tom Joad. Combined with a Power Point presentation of photos from The Library of Congress, the shows are informative and entertaining. Perfect for the whole family,they can be tailored for students studying the Grapes of Wrath,the Great Plains, soil erosion or The Great Depression.

In Mississippi, a young black boy is brutally beaten and shot for allegedly whistling at a white woman. In Montgomery, a lone black woman refuses to give up her bus seat to a white man. And in Greensboro,NC four black students stage a sit-in at a Woolworths lunch counter. These events helped to define our nation and propel a young Selma Preacher to the forefront of a movement. Songwriter briz presents the third part of his Freedom saga with original songs and period photos that capture the pain and the joy of a turbulent time. Freedom's Glory is the final installment of a historical musical journey preceded by; Freedom Stairway, (based on the slave narratives of the 1930's), and Freedom's Cry,(stories from the Civil War). All shows are family appropriate.
