Bunches of Bugs! takes children around the world with stories of all kinds of bugs from all sorts of places. Songs, rhymes, finger plays are part of this program which engages audiences of all ages. If performed in a library, books relating to bugs are pulled and called attention to. Handouts for parents are provided for continued involvement with books and stories. Performances in Livingston County have been funded by the New York State Arts Council/Genesee Valley Council on the Arts.

Why Possum has a Naked Tail The First Strawberries The Origin of the Miky Way The First Fire The Animals' Ball Game Rabbit and the Tar Baby The Raven Mockers (for older audiences) Tsalagi is one way to spell the Cherokee word for their nation, and these stories are all from that tradition.

This program includes stories from out-of-the way places. A map of the world and place markers will assist kids in realizing that stories are told all around the world, by all people.

These seven stories celebrate the creative energy in all beings. Additional storytelling activities for families will be provided at the performance, and a link will be available from my website.

Women have been 'underdogs' at many times in history, yet in folklore they are often the solution to the problem. These stories are a folkloric response to 18th century male beliefs of women's shortcomings, some humorous, some thought-provoking. This program can be tailored for a variety of age levels.

Stories from the Native American nations in the northeast woodlands area: Seneca, Anishinabe, Abenaki. Since Native American stories can be for young listeners or adults, I will select stories for your specific udience.
