Poetry Alive! provides a high energy interactive show with separate shows for K-2, 3-5, 6-8 and 9-12. Two actors perform and bring students on stage with a wide variety of poems. Shows change every year and you can find the most recent shows at the Poetry Alive! website. The Poetry Alive! show serves as a role model for an approach to poetry that teachers and students can use in the classroom. We also offer workshops for students and teachers.

Soar with magical caped crusader Ron Cain in his high-flying Superhero Hocus Pocu” show! The Central New York magician celebrates superheroes from film and fiction in new magic show inspired by the summer reading program theme, Every Hero Has a Story. Young readers assist Ron with tricks demonstrating the powers of popular superheroes like Batman and Wonder Woman. One illusion features our favorite heroes battling the villainous Book Beetle, scourge of librarians everywhere. In addition to his 45-minute show, Ron has created a one-hour Super Fun with Superheroes workshop for schools and libraries. The former teacher uses activities illustrating the Superhero Code to help students tap into their super selves and become the heroes of their own life stories.

STOMP! THE MUSIC ($450.00 per program) All materials included, 2 Hour program, kids take home instruments. Ages 8 - 12 with/without caregivers. Based on the long running Off Broadway STOMP phenom, Children will build a percussion ensemble from found and used everyday objects compose and perform original pieces. Participants will study percussion from around the world gather, design, adapt and build various original percussion instruments to create rhythms and compose orchestrations involving the use of percussion instruments. They will explore the following elements of music and dance: rhythm, beat, melody, harmony, timbre, genre, feeling, choreography, form, function, space, dynamics, tempo, improvisation and learn traditional orchestral practices, notation, and jargon.

What do you get when you mix the art of magic with the magic of art? Ron Cain’s Magical Museum Show, highlighting the 2009 summer reading program theme Be Creative @ Your Library. Appearing as a magical artist, Ron promotes reading while taking children on a tour of his Magical Museum--where the sole price of admission is your imagination. Illusions illustrate pop art, goofy gadgets, incredible inventions, and a puzzling portrait of Mona Lisa. A Syracuse University graduate and former teacher, Ron has more than 16 years of experience performing at schools, libraries, companies and festivals throughout New York. He also has appeared on television’s Pappyland and Saturday Showboat. His magic shows with educational messages include Professor GreenPockets' Performing Bug Show, The Magic of Being Green, Tune In To Magical Idol, Magic of America, Wandering Wizard Show, Case of the Missing Bunny, Captain HurriCain’s Seaside Magic Show, Discover Millennium Magic Show and Holiday Hocus Pocus.

Blackmail at Baker Street features the telling of The Adventure of Charles Augustus Milverton, the riveting story of the “king of all the blackmailers”, robbery, and a life at risk of ruin! Like elocutionists of earlier times, these storytellers adhere closely to the written word in their recitation and interpretation of literary works. Rachel and Rebecca provide an introduction to the story, and they entertain questions and comments afterwards.

What is a Cabin Fever Family Concert? If you've been to a Chip Richter Family Concert before you know they are interactive, entertaining and inspiring for kids, parents and even grandparents. It truly is an all age event designed to be something children and adults will enjoy together. In the middle of the cold, snowy, dark days of winter what could be more welcome than a warm and cozy night of music and melody, love and laughter shared with the whole family? Chip's Cabin Fever Concert can be just the thing to get us through to spring. It's a wonderful community outreach event that will entertain, inspire, educate and just be plain fun.

Hercules and the Heroes (Recommended K-8) Let Epictitus, the mask-maker, and Ovid, the poet, take you on a journey of the imagination, as you explore the ancient Greek heroes! Follow Greece’s greatest hero, Hercules, on his many adventures, as he battles mythological creatures and warriors. Through mask work, poetry, and swordplay, your students will discover the early stories of Greece. This play is designed to bring students closer to early civilizations by appreciating the similarities that we all share. This play stands alone and is the second is our Greek Mythology for Kids series.

“CHILDREN SING AND CELEBRATE AROUND THE WORLD!” ($450.00 per program) For Children and their Caregivers, Ages 0 - 100! Children will learn about the great variety of ways that people sing and celebrate around the world in this 45 minute to one hour long interactive program. Participants will sing folk songs from America around the world and play djembes, shakeres, balaphon, and other percussion instruments from America, Africa, China, Latin America, and Native America. They will explore the these five elements of music rhythm,tempo, timbre, dynamics and melody as they sing and make music from all corners of the Earth. Children will also enjoy the musical instrument meet and greet after the program where they can spend time strumming and banging and really getting to know more about the instruments from Ms. Ellison’s personal collection.
