The award-winning team of folk singer Rich Bala and storyteller Jonathan Kruk (aka The Hudson River Ramblers)present a NEW program using actual stories and authentic songs to chronicle Hamilton's life and accomplishments. This highly interactive, participatory program uses primary sources to tell the story of "the founding father without a father", from his childhood in Nevis to the infamous duel with Aaron Burr. This program was premiered earlier this year at the NY Historical Society in NYC with great success and to much acclaim.

String Band, Homegrown Homegrown String Band Music
The Homegrown String Band, America's premier purveyors of original and neo-traditional high energy acoustic American roots music, presents a program of original music, as well as their own unique interpretations of traditional folk material. A 21st century incarnation of the traditional American family band, they present a program utilizing fiddle, guitar, harmonica, mandolin, clawhammer banjo, doumbek, banjo ukulele, mountain dulcimer, and jaw harp. The Homegrown String Band takes their audiences on a rollicking ride through the sounds of American music, improvising and interacting like only a family can. Their musical program is interspersed with anecdotes and stories, focusing on the people and technologies that have helped shape the oral tradition of American folk music of which they are a part. Entertaining and educational for audiences of all ages, HGSB shows present library patrons with an entertaining and educational look at the history and roots of American folk music. The family has performed at over 300 libraries, as well as theaters and festivals, around the country since 1997.

Lilting balalaikas, dynamic bayan accordion, unique trashotky and loshky, humorous dances, and superb vocals combine for an exhilarating and educational performance for audiences of all ages.

We play a modern style, mixing fast-paced rhythms with relaxing soundscapes and organic sound effects. We also talk about the Aboriginal people and the native animals of the enchanting Land Down Under.
