Summer Escapades celebrates family fun with participatory stories chosen from Diane's best-loved family tales. Original fables, folktales and songs give us a look at exiting summertime adventures including the aquatic antics of a curious monkey who goes for a wild ride on the back of a shark! Summer Escapades is also available with Celtic harp accompaniment by Margot Chamberlain. Either way it's the perfect summertime treat.

Using a variety of songs and instruments, and her collection of BOOKS THAT SING, Nan's presentations are fun and informative and encourage audience participation. Complementing the 2019 SRP theme of A UNIVERSE OF STORIES!, programs will focus on making space in our lives for reading and music and how they are intertwined! Both can carry us to faraway and unexplored places, arousing our imaginations and enriching our knowledge of many topics, including our history, family and community,and nature and the environment.

In Night Lights, unusual star myths take us on a multi-cultural voyage across the heavens. The collection Diane has gathered teach about easily observed celestial phenomena like the origin of prominent constellations, and significant 'night lights' like Morning Star and North Star. Complemented by a humorous legend of the origin of fireflies, this program is well-rounded entertainment. Enjoy it in any indoors venue or bring it to an outdoor or nighttime setting as a special treat. Listen in wonder as tales from Greece, Estonia, Native America, Kurdistan and Korea celebrate the magic of the night sky. 'Thank you for a wonderful program last Saturday. Cain, Ron Captain HurriCain's Seaside Magic Show History,

As the seagoing Captain HurriCain, Ron Cain promotes reading while celebrating the state's beaches and bodies of water. While telling tales and showing tricks from his travels, Captain HurriCain demonstrates a wacky way with water. Illusions include a container that causes water to disappear and reappear, faucets that defy the laws of nature, and an umbrella that does card tricks. Young audiences also meet Barnacle the Shark and learn about the legend of Champ the sea serpent. Since 1998, Ron has created magic shows based on the annual summer reading program theme. Each program uses magic and humor to promote reading and help children feel good about themselves. A Syracuse University graduate and former teacher, Ron has more than 16 years of experience performing at schools, libraries, companies and festivals throughout New York. He also has appeared on television’s Pappyland and Saturday Showboat. His magic shows with educational messages include Tune In To Magical Idol, Uncle Sam's Old Time Magic Show, Magic of America, Wandering Wizard Show, Magical Museum Show, Tex the Cowboy Magician's Wild West Show, and the Case of the Missing Bunny.

From the banks of the Amazon River to the heart of the West African jungle, Rainforest Legends brings to life favorite folktales and songs about the animals and plants of these lands. Legends tell how the Amazon Birds grew feathers as brilliant as the colors of the rainbow, why three Invisible Hunters came to haunt the Nicaraguan rainforest, and how Jabuti the tortoise tricked the Amazon monster Kibungo into sparing the lives of three-toed frog, jaguar and monkey. For schools different Rainforest Legends performances are available for K-2 and 3-6th grade. Each performancevcomes with an extensive curriculum package, which includes both science-based and language-based activities. "Our storytelling assembly for the 5th and 6th graders was one of the best hours we have enjoyed in many years. Even our most reluctant listeners were involved. Sprague, Lindsay (Lynn) Silk! Growing and Spinning History,

Lappen, Henry A Passion for Birds Nature- Animals,

A Passion for Birds is a comic, interactive, educational show about adaptation. It uses realistic, handmade masks to explore how different species have evolved different shapes and behaviors to adapt to their environment. Combining his passion for nature and performance, Henry weaves through the crowd acting out the birds while explaining the hows and whys of their diverse appearances and actions. Participants get to don the masks and soar as Eagles, swim as Puffins, and stalk as Herons. Henry Lappen has been performing comedy for over 30 years. He has been an avid student of nature since childhood. In this show, he combines his love and knowledge of birds, with his comic timing, and artistry in mask making and performing. Henry studied mime, mask and clowning at California’s Dell’Arte School of Physical Comedy. He is a member of the Hampshire Bird Club and the Northeast Hawkwatch. Henry was a Great Blue Heron in a past life. In this life, he is also a tango dancer!
