Kathy Ceceri's newest book Fabric and Fiber Inventions introduces tweens, teens, and adult beginners to the basics of sewing and fiber arts. Learn to create wearables, playthings, and decorative items using traditional techniques, or explore electronic circuits and sensors with simple e-textile projects. Every participant will get to make a project to take home. Choose from several projects for differents ages and abilities! For ages 10 and up: Create Stuffed Sock Creatures (Learn-to-Sew or No-Sew versions available); Make Weavings on Your Own Cardboard Loom; Construct Tube Knitters and Make Versatile I-cord (Wooden and Cardboard versions available); Print Simple Silkscreen Wall Hangings or T-Shirts. For ages 12 and up: Sew light-up felt keychains or stuffies using DIY sensors and components; Weave personal audio speakers from yarn and conductive fiber

While learning about the origins of Mardi Gras in America, participants are provided with mask, feathers, sequins and needed materials and are encouraged to decorate, design and create their own mask. The project is accompanied by printed examples of existing masks used in prior Mardi Gras festivals to use as reference. This is a make and take program.

Folks, this a first as far as my presentations go. Here is another delightful program that you can bring the whole family to. Watch as I recount the history of animation and cartoons from the earliest days of the cinema to it's glory days on National TV syndication which in turn resulted in made for TV cartoons. The highlight of this program includes a 16mm film presentation of classic animation made for the movie houses and cartoons made for TV. Come and see your favorites, from Porky Pig and Elmer Fudd to Huckleberry Hound and The Pink Panther, this is a program that will not disappoint the young and old alike.
