Appearing as the mysterious magician Professor Arcane, Ron Cain trades his top hat for a Sherlock Holmes cap when his bunny Watson disappears. Young audience members become magical detectives using clues and illusions to find the bunny. Throughout the 45-minute show, Ron stresses the value of reading and visiting your local library. The magic show highlights the New York State Library reading program theme, Get a Clue @ Your Library.

With its interactive play stage, Open Hand Theater engages children ages pre-K - 2nd grade in their own performance of the well-loved story, Hats for Sale. In our version each monkey is a vowel sound. With puppets and a stage, sounds and lots of fun with repetition, children participate in acting out the story.

Celebrate trees and flowering plants with this unique performance. Refreshing, lyrical and provocative In the Grove looks at the many ways different cultures have imagined the living world of trees. From a delicate tale of love celebrating the Cherry trees of Japan, to an old English song that speaks of the hidden language of flowers, to the poignant Cornish legend of One Tree Hill, we'll travel ‘round the world in story celebrating this garden of delights. Each tale is surrounded by music and songs from many lands. Legendary Fanny Brice- Torch Singer, Comedianne, Ziegfeld Follies Broadway Star, voice of Baby Snooks on the Radio, Golden Era Movie Star, Jewish legend and inspiration for musical/movie Funny Girl, come alive in this critically acclaimed solo show. Fabulous Fanny takes the audience on a nostalgic journey into the life and relationships of Brice and entertains with many of her popular hits including My Man, Second-Hand Rose, Rose of Washington Square, Cooking Breakfast for the One I Love, When a Women Loves a Man, Sadie Salome, as well as songs inspired by the legend herself such as Don't Rain On My Parade and People. Treat your patrons to a program of stunning musicality and intimate stories; entertainment that will leave you in the musical moment, feeling entertained and enlightened by Fanny's anecdotes, antics and artistry captured as no one else does.

BJ and Company will custom design the right program for your needs. We have worked extensively with children and families and performed hundreds of shows. SUGGESTED PROGRAM: (other topics are available!!!) Barb will come as Prof. Womboggle. She will do a fun, hands-on science lesson about the most dangerous chemical compound in the world! First we will discuss how one atom of oxygen (a highly combustible element) combines with two atoms of hydrogen (also highly combustible) to create this compound… DON'T let the students know that it’s water! The Circus Guy (Josh Seiden) is a variety performer specializing in chlildren's entertainment. The show features high-energy comedy, magic, juggling, and unicycling. Having also crafted many of the magic tricks seen on the hit TV Show, "The Carbonaro Effect", The Circus Guy offers an additional magic workshop where children get to learn easy-to-do tricks using everyday objects that will amaze their family and friends.

Forman, Carole Three Apples Fell from Heaven: Stories from Everywhere Multicultural- Other,

The tradition of the storyteller crosses all cultures. Everyone joins in, calling forth the story in the ways of many lands. We hear tales from everywhere: a Lakota fable with animal sages, a Hasidic tale of love, the journey of a sassy cat in search of a mate from Zimbabe, a Hispanic trickster tale where grandmother lovingly outwits death himself. Sing-along songs with easy movement get everyone involved as we travel afar and feel at home together. Wherever Carole tells story she creates community. The program is adapted to the needs of the group and its participants. Carole Forman has performed story programs around the U.S. and Canada for audiences of all ages. A professional actress, (on Broadway once), she has the ability to engage her audience and get them involved. Wherever Carole tells story she creates community.
