I’ll bring prepared card stock, templates to color, popsicle sticks and other supplies (if you can help with scissors, crayons and glue sticks, that would be great) to make it fun and easy for your patrons to make this beautiful and clever puppet theater. (Help me celebrate 30 years as a professional storyteller this year!) Super fun and easy! A scene from a popular story is selected in advance, such as “A Christmas Carol.” Individual 3D characters are constructed by participants using supplied materials, then the group tempera paints a backdrop together completing the project.

An eclectic mix of traditional and contemporary songs sung in two-part harmony, combined with lively Irish and French Canadian tunes. Yankee Notions is Jim Douglas and Tim Van Egmond. Both are accomplished singers, storytellers, and musicians (guitar, hammered dulcimer, English concertina, pennywhistle, Appalachian dulcimer). Performing for close to 25 years, Yankee Notions has been featured in hundreds of community concerts and festivals, schools, libraries senior centers, and heritage museums including Old Sturbridge Village (MA), Historic Deerfield (MA), Mystic Seaport (CT), and Old Bethpage Village Restoration (NY). An interactive program of songs, small and large movement, and rhythm instrument play for preschoolers and their parents. Story themes may be incorporated with the songs, e.g. songs about the seashore, songs about the seasons, songs about the river, songs about a holiday or national celebration. Parents interact with their children and the children learn that music and reading is fun, especially when sharing quality time with their parent or caregiver. Rhythm instruments (over 12 different types) are hand-held percussion instruments that are sanitized prior to use and are very sturdy and safe. (A craft or art project may be added on, which will extend the program length to 1 hour and 15 minutes.)

A sleuth's case file of stories and songs about solving the crime, catching the thief, and guessing the riddle! Tim’s dramatic style of voice, movement, and facial expression brings stories to life, and his gift of encouraging participation makes for high-spirited and engaging programs. He’ll accompany stories and songs with guitar, mountain dulcimer, limberjack, mouth bow, and conga drum. A program bibliography will be available so that books containing the stories can be on display, and Tim will recommend them in the program to celebrate and encourage reading. Tim has been delighting and captivating audiences all over the country for over 30 years. He has been selected for the New England States Touring Program, the Massachusetts Cultural Council’s Education Programs, and the New Hampshire State Library's Kids, Books, and the Arts Project.

American history comes alive when Bill Gormont brings THE GREAT AMERICAN MAGIC SHOW to your library. This exciting show reinforces our nation's birth and history through entertaining situations filled with magic, illusion and fun. Bill highlights special people and important historical moments that include our first flag, the Declaration of Independence and much, much more. He introduces a modern day Betsy Ross (an audience volunteer) with a hilarious flag routine. Betsy would be proud to see Bill, the stage and accessories decked out in red, white and blue. Audience participation is always a large part of the show. Lucky spectators are invited to have fun on stage as they enjoy learning about our first U.S. Presidents in a magical sort of way. The grand finale is filled with surprise, action and colorful productions. What a wonderful way to close out a fun filled educational experience that celebrates the history of our great nation and stirs the patriotism in our hearts. THE GREAT AMERICAN MAGIC SHOW is suitable for presentation to all ages and is the perfect choice for national holiday celebrations like President’s Day, Memorial Day, Flag Day, 4th of July, Labor Day and Veteran’s Day.

Illusions illustrate pop art, goofy gadgets, incredible inventions, and a puzzling portrait of Mona Lisa. A Syracuse University graduate and former teacher, Ron has more than 16 years of experience performing at schools, libraries, companies and festivals throughout New York. He also has appeared on television’s Pappyland and Saturday Showboat. His magic shows with educational messages include Professor GreenPockets' Performing Bug Show, The Magic of Being Green, Tune In To Magical Idol, Magic of America, Wandering Wizard Show, Case of the Missing Bunny, Captain HurriCain’s Seaside Magic Show, Discover Millennium Magic Show and Holiday Hocus Pocus.
