Scientific Secrets of Magic reveals the scientific principles behind the tricks of magician Ron Cain’s trade. Children learn simple magic involving chemistry, physics, biology, psychology and math. The Syracuse University graduate and former teacher also offers other workshops that combine class instruction with hands-on activities: IT'S MAGIC! teaches kids to perform magic with ordinary objects like cards, coins and rope. Children learn simple tricks that involve chemistry, physics, biology, psychology and math. CLOWNING AROUND shows them how to have fun with juggling, yo-yos and balloon animals. THE WORLD OF HARRY POTTER gives Hogwarts fans a chance to take magical classes and play wizard games. ENCHANTED CREATURES focuses on the folklore and legends surrounding elves, fairies, leprechauns, trolls, dragons and unicorns. MONSTEROLOGY sheds light on the seven monster families and invites students to use their imagination to create creepy creatures. A GATHERING OF GHOSTS introduces students to classic ghost stories and beliefs. THE WILD, WILD WEST lets children pretend to be cowboys (and girls) and learn about Wild Bill Hickok, Annie Oakley and Sitting Bull.

Known for her vivid comedic style, Diane brings delight to her interpretations of these classic Irish favorites. This performance is accompanied by Margot Chamberlain on Celtic harp.

Welcome to New Age Gawain and the Green Knight, Edgecomb’s hilarious send up of the men’s movement. Loosely based on the 14th century poem Sir Gawain and the Green Knight, Edgecomb’s comedic adaptation has New Age Arthurian knights running for their therapists faster than you can say Litigation! Tom Megan’s score provides a lush atmosphere of sound as we journey along the ‘road less traveled by’ in this fun loving tale.. He introduces a modern day Betsy Ross (an audience volunteer) with a hilarious flag routine. Betsy would be proud to see Bill, the stage and accessories decked out in red, white and blue. Audience participation is always a large part of the show. Lucky spectators are invited to have fun on stage as they enjoy learning about our first U.S. Presidents in a magical sort of way. The grand finale is filled with surprise, action and colorful productions. What a wonderful way to close out a fun filled educational experience that celebrates the history of our great nation and stirs the patriotism in our hearts. Storyteller Fran Carlisi-Paxson joins Allen Hopkins to re-enact Erie Canal days. Fran plays "Annie," a canal boat cook, while Allen is an itinerant 19th-cehtury musician. Fran recounts several "tall tales" from the canal tradition, while Allen sings songs collected from NY State sources, pertaining to the history and social life of the canal. Program is given in period costume, using antique instruments, and features dialog and byplay that outline some of the lesser-known historical facts of the canal era. The program takes a humorous perspective on many facets of 19th-century Erie Canal life. This program has been presented at Spencerport Canal Days, Livingston County Historical Museum, Greece Historical Society, and elsewhere.
