Watch children erupt into laughter and applause when Doctor VolCaino appears! Magician Ron Cain turns into a silly scientist for his new Fizztastic Science Magic Show, inspired by the summer reading theme, 'Fizz, Boom, Read! He performs illusions that celebrate science and highlight great scientists like Einstein and Edison. Plus, he encourages families to visit the library and read about his lab-coated heroes. Ron also teaches scientific principles behind the tricks of his trade in a Scientific Secrets of Magic workshop. Children learn simple magic tricks that involve chemistry, physics, biology, psychology and math. The former teacher and Syracuse University alum has specialized in educational magic since 1988. Children are active participants in shows related to reading, history, science, geography and ecology. Students also do hands-on activities that foster learning and self-esteem in his one-hour magical workshops. Ron also performs at schools, libraries, festivals, recreation programs and businesses year-round. His family-friendly, 45-minute magic shows are the highlight of special events & holiday celebrations. He even offers entertainment packages that include strolling magic and balloon sculptures.

Children will be encouraged to explore their imagination through music and movement. Children will be invited to sing, dance and engage their dramatic side. The goal of this program is to provide a safe and supportive place for children to express themselves. Everyone, children and adults alike, are invited to participate as much or as little as they are comfortable with. This program can be tailored to fit the needs of the audience and the space available.

Irish Culture comes to life with Storytelling, Song and the strains of the Celtic harp. In A Celtic Evening, Diane brings to life Ireland’s storytelling treasures from the humorous Legend of Knockgrafton to the hauntingly beautiful Deirdre of the Sorrows. The most famous of all Irish romances, Deirdre weaves together Druidic prophecies with a forbidden passion so profound it dares to defy the fates. The performance is set against a lush background of harp music: original and traditional melodies played by the versatile Margot Chamberlain on a variety of Celtic folk harps. Enjoy an evening of humor, passion and music with these two inspiring performers. A Celtic Evening is also available as a full musical event with the addition of Michael Punzak on story and fiddle and Tom Megan on accordion, keyboard and pennywhistle. Thoughtfully composed and beautifully presented, A Celtic Evening was a joy for us all. The combination of both your talents made for an inspirational evening that moved the audience to laughter and to tears, and left us with a feeling that magic was in the air. I am the author of the children's book, I Grew Up On A Farm. I come dressed as a farmer in overalls, straw hat and red handkerchief. I bring with me farm paraphanalia such as; a wooden chicken crate, chicken hook, egg baskets (with wooden display eggs, different colored eggs, large feed sack, realistic toy chickens, and other farm implements. I share stories of my experiences growing up on a farm using the various farm implements while reading my book to the group. It is on Power Point format, so large audiences are not a problem. Once upon a time there was a talkative little turtle who had an ambitious dream - to fly! He was so captivated by the idea of seeing the world from way up in the air, that he spoke about it constantly to all the other animals in the forest, wondering how he could accomplish his goal. Based on a Native American legend, this is a play about reaching beyond the every day and striving to do more, even when it seems to be impossible. Puppeteer Robert Rogers has applied all the imagination and skill that he has acquired over a 31 year career.

Singer-Pianist-Entertainer and society orchestra leader Mitch Kahn celebrates the Great American Popular Songbook with “Sail Away”, a nautical voyage through the eyes of vintage songwriters Cole Porter, Johnny Mercer, Noel Coward, Frank Loesser, Hoagy Carmichael, Bart Howard, Jimmy Van Heusen, Harold Arlen, Yip Harburg, Sammy Cahn, Kurt Weill and the Gershwins (among others), as well as contemporary notables Ian Hunter, Peter Allen and Dennis Deyoung (of the rock band Styx). Song titles include well known standards “On a Slow Boat to China”, Beyond the Sea”, “Come Fly With Me” and “Skylark”, plus lesser known titles such as “I Go to Rio”, “Ships”, (recorded by Barry Manilow) and title song “Sail Away” (written by Noel Coward and Gertrude Lawrence). Playing upon the intriguing and rare historic hurdy gurdy to enrich our theme and setting, we are pleased to accompany our performance journey with an early music mini-concert specially designed for children, highlighting a diverse collection of early instruments of all shapes, sizes, and materials. Imaginations are courted with the mysterious and evocative sounds. As you enjoy this exploration of historic instruments from bagpipes to 'whittle and dub' you will marvel at the wonderful ways human kind has used wood, animal horn, reed, leather, and ingenuity to invent instruments that create a rainbow of musical sounds.
