Jump with Jill is a professional live show that travels the country transforming nutrition education into a rock & roll nutrition concert. The school assembly takes childhood obesity by storm, serving as a kid-appropriate approach for kicking off wellness committee initiatives, reinforcing classroom learning, and supporting a healthier cafeteria menu. The show is both educationally sound and completely rock & roll. Armed with catchy songs, upbeat dance moves, and a hip wardrobe, Jump with Jill uses the same tools normally used to sell junk food and keep kids sedentary to get kids engaged, moving, and learning about healthy habits. The live Jump with Jill show has been performed live 3,000 times for almost a million kids all over the United States, Canada, and Europe.

This wonderful yoga helps children and teens with focus, anxiety, stress and depression. 2-5 year olds will have a shorter class. Houseplants are a fun hobby, but most have no food value. What if you could grow citrus plants like lemons, oranges, and limes right in your living room? Learn how to grow citrus, as well as bananas, pomegranates, olives, coffee, and even vanilla orchids and other spices at home. Learn what plants are hardy in your USDA zone, and whether or not they are self-pollinating or require a second plant. Participants take home an exotic plant of their choice, the last program received Arabica coffee plants. This is a delightful collection of the most treasured nursery rhymes, imitation songs, finger plays, action songs and musical games for the younger visitors to the library and their families. Cathy rekindles the joy of traditional musical activities that enhance learning: singing, dancing, reciting, moving in circles, playing active games, smiling, and cooperating with each other. The dancing limberjack toys are always featured for simple and captivating fun. An experienced folk music performer and family literacy teacher, with a specialty in traditional American singing games, Cathy uses guitar, banjo, limberjacks, flute, and penny whistle in her programs which are tailored for specific age groups. “This program is perfect for preschoolers!” said Robin Benoit of Fairport Public Library. (An additional version has been created as a family concert for audiences of all ages).

How did people keep their food through the winter before there was refrigeration, or even before Napoleon invented canning? Learn how to make sauerkraut and other homemade foods preserved by using lacto-fermentation, an ancient preservation method used by Vikings. Unlock not only vitamins and minerals, but also enhance gut health by incorporating probiotics into your diet! Participants can watch their choice of fermentation project at the library and taste the final product when complete. They will learn the skills to make their own at home, and try a variety of Viking foods at the end of the presentation. Kundalini Yoga, as taught by Yogi Bhajan is a branch of yoga which helps regulate the nervous and endocrine systems, improves focus and circulation, and moves energy in the body. Each class consists of breathing, warm-ups, yoga set of exercises (kriyas), meditation, relaxation some singing and/or chanting. This yoga helps calm anxiety, stress, depression and transform old habits into a healthier lifestyle. Kriyas vary from class to class, so no two Kundalini classes are the same! Many postures are designed to stretch, tone and strengthen particular parts of the body, and students are encouraged to respect their own particular strengths and weaknesses while exercising. The ancient healing arts of yoga and meditation can help people to bring more balance into all aspects of their lives and thus, to experience radiant health and well-being. This program may be offered to students once or on an on-going basis.
