Program description: This highly interactive workshop is for beginner or intermediate songwriters seeking to more deeply explore the craft in a supportive environment where creativity is prioritized over formula, Songwriters will work individually, collaborate with peers, and give and receive constructive feedback. Themes will include: key elements of songs, sources of inspiration, the creative process, identifying and overcoming common stumbling blocks, embracing vulnerability and fear, letting go of achievement-driven art, connecting your voice and values, and allowing your unique perspective to shine. Activities will include individual and group writing exercises, presentation, discussion, Q&A, and group song / idea sharing.
