Program description: The process of creating a middle-grade, young adult novel, or non-fiction writing. Drafts, editorial letters with comments, galleys, corrective proofs, and the stages an author goes through until the book is a final bound copy are shown encouraging the students explore their own paths of writing and the journey of rewriting to make their work tight with both clarity and connecting with the reader at the same time.
Space/special requirements: Intimate classroom setting or library, or auditorium / communal space appropriate for in discussing creating fiction/books.

Other notes: I am passionate about writing fiction and art and absolutely love to talk about it with groups - adults, children, teens, who are interested in hearing about the entire creative process of making a book, getting an agent, and getting it published.
