Program description: Open Hand Theater creates original performances based on the performance traditions of cultures around the world. Grandfather Frost weaves his magic through the Russian forest in a tale spun by Baba Yaga and her mischievous cat. Featuring Vladimir Vasyagin, our international artist in residence from Tomsk, Siberia, this traditional story introduces Russian heritage through its folk characters, music and unique style of puppetry.
Space/special requirements: The performance requires a minimum area 15’ deep x 15’ wide. A raised stage is recommended for large audiences (over 100) but may be played in a more intimate setting for smaller groups.
